Biology?
My youngest child has a very sweet view of family relationships -- but a very limited view of biology.
When we were nearing adoption day we had a sweet, innocent conversation about our titles in the family. We used words like "half-sister" to understand how they were actually related. My youngest happily announced "She's my half-sister now but when we are adopted will be full sisters!"
We recently had a similar conversation. We were talking about some kids in our church who are adopted and are full biological brothers. My youngest said "We used to be half-sisters but we are full sisters now."
I love her view of how adoption has changed things and I hope that won't change when she understands genetics someday.
